Angela Fidanzo
Clinical Intern
There is no pressure to get therapy “right." Coming to counseling can be intimidating, and so my goal is to help clients feel as comfortable as they can. Being told that someone feels safe with me is one of the greatest compliments I could receive, and it motivates me to continue learning and growing as a counselor. Creating that environment allows my clients to confidently process the struggles they are facing in order to find healing.
In our work together, I use approaches that look to the past to better understand how those experiences inform the present. I also use somatic techniques to help my clients work through the effects of stress on their mind and body. Having been a dancer for sixteen years, I know firsthand how helpful movement can be for mind-body health.
Outside of my work, I’ve enjoyed restarting dance lessons. I am also a big coffee person, and enjoy taking a small part of the day for quiet prayer and reflection as well—it helps me to slow the day down and feel more at peace.
My specialties include:
- Young Adults and Adults (18+)
- Sexual Assault Survivors
- Somatic Work
- Childhood Wounds and Adverse Experiences
